Narrative#1:
Fishing must have influenced me the most.Last summer was
the first time that I got a job.My first day at work was really
scary and nerve racking.I had to get up really early so I had
to wake up at 6:00am and I had to get all the way to the boat dock
at 7:30 am.If I was late the boat would leave with out me.
So I got at the boat at 7:30am sharp.I walked down to the boat
dock and climbed on to the boat and I saw the captain.I was put
to work right away.The first thing I had to was scrub the whole
boat.The boat was huge but it was one of the oldest fishing boats
in the marina.The name of the boat was the Betty-o.As I started
cleaning the boat the captain started driving the boat to pick
the customers who are usually locals or tourists.I saw a huge
group of people on the boat dock. I said to my self this is going
to be a long day.So after we picked up the customers we started
heading out deep into the ocean.The next thing I had to do was
set up all the rental rods for people that don't have fishing
rods.One hour past and we finally got to the spot where the captain
thought there was alot of fish.As the boat made a stop everybody
droped their fishing lines into the water.Everybody was getting
huge bites from the fish.All of a sudden I heard someone say I got
one.Everybody was excited. The guy cought a huge red snapper.
Everyone on the boat were catching fish it was a great day for
fishing.Eventually a couple hours past by and the day was over.
We got back to the boat dock and everybody was sastisfied with
the great fishing that day.When everybody left I had to scrub
the whole boat again.It took me two hours but I finally finished
scrubing the boat.The captain gave me my money for the first day.
He said I did a great job.After that I went home and went to bed.
The way this story influenced me was by teaching me responsibility
and commitment.
